Samsung Series 5 WW90CGC04DAEEU Washing Machine White

Room for the full basket

The 9 kg drum is well suited to families of four or five and gives you space to wash a king-size duvet in one go rather than splitting it across two cycles. A 1400 rpm maximum spin extracts more water before clothes go on the airer or into the dryer, which is the upper end of what you'll find on mainstream front-loaders and shortens drying time noticeably compared with 1200 rpm models.

Lower bills every wash

The Samsung WW90CGC04DAEEU 9kg 1400 spin washing machine carries an A energy rating, the top tier on the current scale, and uses 44 kWh per 100 cycles plus 50 litres of water per wash. That puts running costs near the bottom of the 9 kg class, and the figures hold up well against the 8 kg models in the same Series 5 line.

Smarter cycles less effort

EcoBubble mixes detergent with air and water before it touches the load, so it dissolves at lower temperatures and lifts stains without a hot wash. Auto Dosing measures detergent for you across roughly a month of laundry, cutting waste and overdosing. A 15-minute quick wash handles lightly worn items, while a steam programme helps reduce creases and odours. Wi-Fi connectivity through SmartThings lets you start, pause and monitor cycles from your phone.

Quieter than you would expect

The standard 60 x 85 x 55 cm footprint fits a typical kitchen gap or under most worktops, and at 65 kg it is manageable for a two-person install. Spin noise sits at 72 dB(A) with an A noise emission class, on the quieter side for this spin speed. Front loading, a clear LED display, dial and button controls, child lock and a delay start of up to 24 hours round off a practical package. It is worth comparing prices across UK retailers and checking other freestanding washing machines in this range before you buy.
